"Command, this is Vasquez. The Luminari believe the Void came from another galaxy."

"Copy, Vasquez. Do they know why?"

The Luminari leader appeared beside her. "They are fleeing something. Something worse."

Elena's blood ran cold. "What could be worse than the Void?"

"We don't know. But we need to find out."

The Odyssey launched, following the Void's trail. The journey was long, the space between stars dark and cold.

They found a planet-barren, its surface covered in strange symbols.

"The Void used this as a base," the science officer said.

Elena led an away team to the surface. The symbols were warnings-a message from a species that had been destroyed.

"They were running from something," Elena said. "But what?"

The ground trembled. A massive ship emerged from the darkness-larger than any they had seen.

"It's the Void's mothership," the Builder said.

Elena raised her weapon. "Then we destroy it."

The Odyssey fired, its cannons blazing. The mothership exploded, its fragments scattering.

"Command, the mothership is destroyed."

"Copy, Odyssey. Good work. Come home."

Elena turned the ship toward home, the stars streaking past.

The Void was leaderless.

But its remnants still lurked in the darkness.
